The purpose of Ballroom Dance Academy of Saint Louis is to promote partner or ballroom style dancing, an important component of American culture and education.

Ballroom Dance Academy of Saint Louis, BDASL is an educational organization serving the greater St. Louis metropolitan region. The program teaches ballroom or partner style dancing as a form of exercise to strengthen muscles, improve balance and enhance cardiovascular output. The program’s focus is for the population at large including youth through seniors by performing the following programs.
The Ballroom Dance Academy sponsors six ballroom dance programs listed below.

1.DANCE EDUCATIONAL CLASSES.
Weekly ballroom dance classes offered at different levels of instruction.

2.DANCE SHOWCASES
Sponsorship of an annual Ballroom Dance Showcase in which dancers perform syllabus
and open choreography in preparation for Medal Examinations.

3.DANCE CAMPS/WORKSHOPS
Offer a variety of educational camps/workshops in which students are taught methods
of improving technique, musicality, balance, partnering abilities and confidence.

4.DANCE OUTREACH
Provide community outreach programs to schools, hospitals and other organizations
at which ballroom dance introductory classes and lectures are taught. Lectures focus
on how ballroom dancing improves balance for individuals at-risk for falling;
strengthens core muscle groups for improved posture, increases cardiovascular
function for improved endurance; enhances concentration and memory as ballroom
dancing requires sequential learning with each new step pattern; and the high
success or compliance rate of ballroom dancing as a form of physical exercise
because individuals ‘love what they do’.
